UT in Contention at Midway Point of Spartan Invite
Tampa sits in second place behind Indian River
CLEARWATER, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's swimming team sits in second place among six competitors at the Spartan Invite.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sunshine State Conference opponent Nova Southeastern claimed first-place in all four events to remain in third place.
• Indian River took the team lead after sitting in second place behind Tampa following day one.
• Tampa continues to lead Nova Southeastern after the Spartans finished fifth, third, fifth and seventh respectively in the three events.
TOP PERFORMERS:
• The 500 Free was the first event of day two. Tommy Reminger had a fifth-place finish with a time of 4:31.74. Mauricio Calderon was eighth at 4:42.99.
• Brett Saunders finished third in the 200 IM as he finished in 1:49.25. Sean Rodney was eighth with a time of 1:53.16.
• In the 50 Free, Marc-Olivier Caron was fifth after being clocked at 20.63.
• The final event of the evening was the 400 Medley Relay. Tampa hadf a seventh-place finish from Ethan Harrington, Nicholas Stoski, Rodney and Aaron James. They were timed at 3:24.33.
UP NEXT:
Sunday's action will start with the 9:30 a.m., prelims and commence with the finals at 6 p.m. Monday's slate has the 9:30 a.m., prelims and 5 p.m., finals. Sunday's events include the 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back and 800 Free Relay.
