Moccasins Slip by Spartans in Series Opener
The visitors scored three unearned runs in the eight inning to take the win
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa softball team opened their final series of the regular season against the visiting Florida Southern Mocs on Friday evening. The game went into extra innings and the Mocs scored three unearned runs in the top of the 8th inning to win the game over UT.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Top 8th: The visiting side scored three unearned runs in the top of the inning for the only runs of the game to win the opener.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Makaleigh Dooley and Laurie Kostecka both went 2 for 3 at the plate in the game.
- Doloey got the start in the circle for the Spartans and gave up just five hits in 6.1 innings of work and no runs.
UP NEXT:
The team will wrap up the regular season and the series against FSC tomorrow afternoon with a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. In between the two games, the seniors participating in the series will be recognized.
