Spartans Sweep Season Series Against Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The University of Tampa Spartans softball team completed a season sweep of the Lynn University Fighting Knights to reach double-digit wins on the season. Tampa's win streak now sits at 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED — GAME ONE:

• Mariah Galhouse got things started in the first with a double that brought in Stephanie Balmer. | 1-0 Tampa
• Lauren Fantone singled to right field, scoring Galhouse. | 2-0 Tampa
• Lynn added a run in the bottom of the first. | 2-1 Tampa
• The Spartans scored from a Cristina Clauberg fielder's choice, bringing in Abigail Siegel. | 3-1 Tampa
• Corynn Miner was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Miranda Perez. | 4-1 Tampa
• Balmer scored on a wild pitch in the top of the second. | 5-1 Tampa
• Bailey Phillip's solo shot gave tampa a 6-1 lead. | 6-1 Tampa
• A Maddie Farrell single brought in Miner. | 7-1 Tampa
• Lynn homered in the bottom of the seventh. | 7-2 Tampa

INSIDE THE STATS — GAME ONE:

• Lauren Fantone hit 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.
• Corynn Miner enjoyed a complete effort, earning her fifth win of the season with three strikeouts and hitting 2-for-3 with an RBI.
• UT had four other players log RBIs in the game: Cristina Clauberg, Maddie Farrell, Mariah Galhouse, and Bailey Phillips on a solo shot.

HOW IT HAPPENED — GAME TWO:

• Lynn took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. | 1-0 Lynn
• Tampa answered in the top of the fourth on a Lauren Fantone double that brought in Mariah Galhouse. | 1-1 Tied
• Corynn Miner doubled to center field in the eighth, bringing Cristina Clauberg home to win the game. | 2-1 Tampa

INSIDE THE STATS — GAME TWO:

• Cristina Clauberg had another strong game in the second showing, hitting 2-for-4 at the plate.
• Mariah Galhouse pitched the entire game, striking out three to pick up her seventh win of the year.
• Alexa Russo hit 2-for-3.
• Corynn Miner and Lauren Fantone both notched RBIs for UT.

UP NEXT: Tampa is back home for the first and second of a four-game series with the Saint Leo University Lions. Games one begins at 1:00 p.m. and game two begins at 3:00 p.m.
