SSC Honors Melijah Sullivan as Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly award winners and named the University of Tampa's Melijah Sullivan its Offensive Player of the Week in women's basketball.
Sullivan gets the nod as Player of the Week following another perfect week for UT women's basketball. On Wednesday, Sullivan scored 11 points and added four rebounds as Tampa defeated Eckerd College, 66-60, in overtime.
On Saturday at Rollins College, Sullivan established a new career-high of 29 points, which helped the Spartans secure the 70-58 victory. The sophomore scored her 40 points by shooting 54% from the field (15-28) and 67% from the free-throw line (10-15). She played in 74 of her team's minutes, where she totaled 12 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks.
Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of January 27 - February 2, 2020. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
