Rollins Invite Matches Spartans With Top DII Competition

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's golf team finished 10th at the Peggy Kirk Bell Memorial Invitational, which was hosted by Sunshine State Conference opponent Rollins College..

• Kiira Riihijarvi | 12th overall, 228

• Jess Wild | 41st overall, 240

• Sofia Cadavid | 55th overall, 247

• Kensi Olson | 65th overall, 255

• Sydney Stengel | 75th overall, 266

OTHER NOTABLES:
• For the fourth straight competition, freshman Riihijarvi led all Spartan golfers. She shot rounds of 75, 76 and 77 and finished at +12.

• Riihijarvi tallied the top three rounds for the Spartans.

• Tampa had one individual competitor as Lauren Fantaroni shot rounds of 92 and 92 before withdrawing prior to Tuesday's final round.

• After being Tampa's top finisher for the first two tourneys, Wild was second among all Spartans for the fourth consecutive event.

• Nova Southeastern's Michelle Ruiz was the medalist with a three-round score of 218 (+2).

• A total of 14 teams competed.

• In addition to UT, also representing the Sunshine State Conference were Nova Southeastern (1), Florida Tech (3), Rollins (4), Florida Southern (9), and Eckerd (14).

UP NEXT:
Tampa is back in action on April 9-11 at the Florida Tech Invitational. The event will be played at Duran Golf Course in Viera, Fla.
