Kiira Riihijarvi Named National Player of the Year, All-American as UT 10th at Championships
DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Tampa women's golf team finished play at the NCAA Division II National Championships with a 10th-place showing. Kiira Riihijarvi was also honored as the WGCA National Player of the Year and an All-American at Wednesday's banquet.
Riihijarvi, a senior from Oulu, Finland, is now a two-time NCAA Division II National Player of the Year and currently the number-one golfer in the country. Riihijarvi is a five-time All-American and two-time NCAA Regional champion.

OTHER NOTABLES:
- UT competed at the championships for the first time in program history.
- Riihijarvi finished in the top-10 at the National Championships in each of her three appearances. She was also ninth in 2017 and seventh in 2018.
- This marks the seventh top-10 finish of the season for Riihijarvi.
- Riihijarvi opened the tournament a 72, marking the top round for a Spartan individual.
- A total of 12 teams competed at the championships.
- Montagnino made it two Spartans in the top five as she shot a 72 in the final round.
- Cadavid led all Spartans in the third round with a 73.
- Riihijarvi was the top-ranked individual at the event at No. 1.
- The top eight teams will advance to match play, beginning Thursday.
