Spartans Finish Fifth at Saint Leo Invitational
DADE CITY, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's golf team competed at the Saint Leo Invitational, finishing fifth in the three-round event.

- Ana Maria Jimenez Rios | 2nd overall, 210 (-6)
- Emily Montagnino | 12th overall, 218 (+2)
- Emilie Bjørge | 38th overall, 239 (+13)
- Laila Forstmane | 38th overall, 239 (+13)
- Maxime Holletschek | 42nd overall, 230 (+14)
OTHER NOTABLES:
- Jimenez-Rios nearly captured her second consecutive medalist honor, finishing one stroke back in the individual leaderboard.
- A first round 67 from Jimenez-Rios was the top individual round for a Spartan and also matched the best individual round for all participants.
- Head coach Missey Jones also registered two individuals.
- Ella Mason shot a 236 while Chloe Burdon fired a 241.
- A total of 12 teams competed.
- Lynn's Sara Ericsson, ranked No. 15 in the nation, was the medalist with a 209 (-7).
- Joining Tampa and host Saint Leo (7) from the Sunshine State Conference were Lynn (2), Barry (3), Florida Southern (4), Eckerd (8), Palm Beach Atlantic (10) and Embry-Riddle (11).
- Team champion Anderson is ranked No. 8 in the nation, while Lynn is No. 5.
- No. 12 Tampa finished ahead of four ranked opponents, including No. 7 Saint Leo.
- Several nationally-ranked players competed, as No. 36 Jimenez-Rios, finished ahead of the nation's No. 1, 2 and 3-ranked players.
- Joining Jimenez-Rios in the individual national rankings are teammates Forstmane (No. 34) and Montagnino (No. 70).
UP NEXT:
UT will play in the Rollins Invitational, which is scheduled for October 30 to November 1 at Bradenton Country Club in Bradenton, Fla.
