Spartans Surge on Final Day to Finish Fourth at William Beall Fall Classic
FINDLAY, Ohio – The University of Tampa women's golf team delivered its strongest performance of the tournament on Tuesday, climbing three spots on the final day to finish fourth at the William Beall Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Findlay at Findlay Country Club.
The Spartans carded a tournament-best 295 (+7) in the final round — their lowest score of the fall — to close with a three-day total of 923 (+59). That late surge lifted Tampa from seventh to fourth in the 17-team field, finishing behind Findlay (894), Grand Valley State (908), and UIndy (911).
Top Performers
- Leading the charge was Justine Bayle, who fired a final-round 73 (+1) to place tied for 10th overall at 229 (+13). Her consistent play was key to Tampa's team pushing up the leaderboard.
- Right behind her, Kat Brictson continued her strong fall campaign, finishing tied for 14th after rounds of 77–79–74 for a 230 (+14) total.
- Ruth Toennessen also came through in the clutch with a closing 74, jumping into a tie for 21st at 232 (+16).
- Maria Mora and Annie Betts, competing as an individual, each tied for 25th at 234 (+18). Mora's final-round 76 helped cap Tampa's lowest team score of the tournament.
- Rounding out the lineup, Kelly Shanahan saved her best round for last, matching teammates with a strong 74 on Tuesday to tie for 33rd (237, +21).
