Spartans Add Beltramello to Women's Lacrosse Coaching Staff
Former Marquette student-athlete Lisa Beltramello becomes the third assistant coach in Tampa women's lacrosse history.
TAMPA, Fla. – University of Tampa women's lacrosse head coach Kelly Gallagher has appointed former Marquette University student-athlete Lisa Beltramello as the new assistant coach, bringing her years of lacrosse experience to UT.
"We're excited to have Lisa join our family and continue to build our young program," stated coach Gallagher. "She has a strong background of building programs that will allow her to excel at Tampa."
Beltramello joins the Spartans after a successful stint as the Homestead High School head coach in Mequon, Wisc. While with Homestead, Beltramello was responsible for teaching the fundamentals of the sport to 50 first-year players while also managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the sport.
Prior to coaching at Homestead High School, the Suffield, Conn. native taught overseas at the Benenden Boarding School in Cranbrook, U.K. Her duties at Benenden included teaching physical education while specializing in lacrosse for students ranging from 12-18 years old.
"Lisa is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about teaching the game of lacrosse," continued Gallagher. "Her ability to develop players will be an asset to the program."
The former midfielder spent two seasons as the graduate assistant for Marquette, her alma mater. She earned her masters in professional studies with an emphasis in sports leadership. The Cum Laude student graduated with a dual undergraduate degree in secondary education and psychology and a minor in broad field social studies with a 3.65 cumulative grade-point-average.
"Lisa is uniquely qualified for our team after being a member of the inaugural program at Marquette," said Gallagher. "Her experience as both a student-athlete and coach has taught her a great deal about what it takes to build a young program, something she had proven last year as she served as the inaugural coach at Homestead High School. I have no doubt that Lisa will help our program take the next steps as we begin our fourth season."
