#7 Spartans to Play #5 Lindenwood Lions in First Meeting in Program History
TAMPA, Fla. – The seventh ranked University of Tampa Spartans will be back at home as they are prepared for top-10 battle at Naimoli Field. Tampa is hosting the Lindenwood University Lions, who come into the game as the fifth ranked team in the nation.
The Matchup: No. 7 University of Tampa (3-0) vs. No. 5 Lindenwood University (3-0)
Date/Time: Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at 12:00 p.m.
Location: Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex| 1120 West North A Street, Tampa, FL 33606
Series History: This will be the first time these two teams will meet in program history.
About the Spartans: Tampa enters the game on a three-game win streak to begin the year. This past week the Spartans traveled to South and North Carolina to face Newberry and Lenoir-Rhyne. In the game against Newberry College, the Spartans claimed a 19-5 victory. In the matchup against Lenoir-Rhyne University, UT would earn a 19-6 victory. Claire Swanson led the way for UT as she collected nine goals, four assists, and 14 draw controls throughout the week.
About the Lions: Lindenwood enters the game with a 3-0 record as they won their last game against No. 8 Florida Southern. The Lions also have another ranked victory as they opened their season with a victory against No. 14 Colorado Mesa. Hannah Doughty leads the way for Lindenwood with 11 goals on the year.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens, and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
