Claire Swanson Named SSC Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The University of Tampa's Claire Swanson has been named Sunshine State Conference offensive player of the week. Swanson earned the award after leading the Spartans to a perfect 2-0 week on the road.
Claire Swanson was the offensive leader for the sixth-ranked Spartans as she led Tampa to a perfect 2-0 week on the road. In the game against Newberry, Swanson led the way with five points as she notched four goals and added an assist in the win, she would also add five draw controls in the game. Against Lenoir-Rhyne she would total eight points, scoring five goals and adding three assists. Against Lenoir-Rhyne she would also add nine draw controls and cause a turnover. For the week she totaled nine goals, four assists, and 14 draw controls. She would also have a shot on goal percentage of .765 in the two games.
Swanson and the rest of the Spartans will be back at home tomorrow as they face fifth ranked Lindenwood at noon.
