Spartans Set to Clash with Golden Bears

TAMPA, Fla. – The 10th ranked University of Tampa Spartans play their second game of a four-game homestand on Tuesday night. Tampa is hosting the unranked Concordia University, St. Paul Golden Bears.

The Matchup: No. 10 University of Tampa (3-1) vs. Concordia St. Paul University (4-1)

Date/Time: Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex | 1120 West North A Street, Tampa, FL 33606

Series History: This will be the second time these two teams meet. Last time out, the Spartans got the better of the Golden Bears winning 20-7 back in 2017.

About the Spartans: Tampa is coming off a loss the last time they played as they dropped a home game to fifth-ranked Lindenwood University 11-5. Each of the four victories the Spartans have this year have each been by at least 10 goals. The points leaders for the Spartans are Claire Swanson with 18, Carly Vaccaro with 15, Hannah Bush with 15, and Cece Colombo with 11. The Spartans are outscoring opponents 65-26 on the season.

About the Golden Bears: Concordia St. Paul enters the game with a 4-1 record. The Golden Bears had won four in a row before dropping their last game to sixth-ranked Regis University 14-12. In their third game of the year, the Golden Bears had a statement win against fourteenth ranked Colorado Mesa. This season Concordia St. Paul is outscoring opponents 78-32 on the season.

Tickets: Tickets are $5 for adults, senior citizens, and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
