Tampa Falls on the Road Against Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The sixth-ranked University of Tampa Spartans traveled to Winter Park to take on the eighth-ranked Rollins College Tars. The Tars used a strong first half to claim the top-10 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

First Half:

Rollins started off fast against Tampa as they raced out to a 6-0 lead just eight minutes into the game. The Spartans were able to get their first goal of the game at the 20:41 mark, when Hannah Bush scored a man-up goal. Emma McLoghlin would add two goals in the half, while Gia Colombo would score the final goal of the half. The two teams would trade goals back and forth throughout the final 12 minutes of the half. | RC 10, UT 4

Second Half:

Lizzie Pierpont would open up the second half with an unassisted goal to cut into the deficit. RC would follow with two quick goals to give them a seven-goal lead. Alyssa Romano and Georgia Glowaki would score the next two goals for UT, bringing the game to 12-7 with 18:45 left to play in the game. There would be three goals scored during the remainder of the game as Rollins would score two of the three. Oliva Mott would score the final goal for the Spartans. | RC 14, UT 8

Tampa will play its season finally on Wednesday, as they travel to Lakeland to face Florida Southern College. The first draw is set for 7:00 p.m.
