Nastasia Asgedom Awarded Player of the Week After Two Goal Performance Against FIT
Asgedom scored a pair of goals against the Panthers to lead Tampa to a 3-2 win on Senior Night
TAMPA, Fla. – For the first time this season, sophomore Nastasia Asgedom earned Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week as the University of Tampa soccer team went 1-0-1 last week, with a win against Florida Tech at home and a draw against Saint Leo in 2OT on the road. The midfielder recorded the first goal against Florida Tech in the 28th minute and scored the game-winner in the 79th minute.
Through 15 games this season, the midfielder has fives goals and three assists. She has 13 points this season which places her as the team leader in that category.
The award marks the first offensive honor for Asgedom this season as well as the first one overall for the women's soccer team.
Tampa will now await the results this week for the rest of the conference to see where they will finish in the standings as the conference tournament is set to begin on Nov. 1st. Live stats and video will be available through www.tampaspartans.com for any postseason games at home.
