Tampa Battles to 0–0 Tie at Barry in Conference Showdown
Miami Shores, Fla. — The University of Tampa women's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw on the road against Barry on Saturday evening at Buccaneer Field.
The Spartans held firm in a defensive showcase, limiting the Buccaneers to just eight shots—only two of which were on goal—while producing 12 shots of their own. Despite consistent offensive pressure and several quality looks in the second half, Tampa was unable to find the finishing touch as both teams settled for a point in Sunshine State Conference play.
Tampa's best chances came from Kendall Gouner, who tested the Barry keeper with a driven shot in the 16th minute, and Lilly Nava, who placed two second-half efforts just wide. Goalkeeper Lia Doohan anchored the Spartans' defense, making two crucial saves to record her third clean sheet of the season.
With the result, Tampa moved to 5-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in SSC play, continuing its strong defensive run late in the conference schedule.
