Spartan Women Enjoy Record Start to NCAA Championships
GENEVA, Ohio - The NCAA Division II men's and women's swimming and diving championships began on Wednesday, with both the University of Tampa men's and women's teams heavily represented.
Through the first nine events, head coach Jimi Kiner's Spartans are eighth on the women's side and 19th in men's.
School Records
- The Women's 200 Medley Relay team of Courtney Sherwood, Elizaveta Bazarova, Molly O'Hara and Hana van Loock established a new mark with a time of 1:40.95.
All-American Performances
- Women's 50 Freestyle: Bazarova, 7th Place, 23.21
- Women's 200 Medley Relay: Sherwood, Bazarova, O'Hara, van Loock, 5th Place, 1:40.95.
Honorable Mention All-American Performances
- Women's 1,000 Freestyle: Jessie Tobin, 12th Place, 1:06.93
- Men's 200 IM: Brett Saunders, 12th Place, 1:48.10
