Tampa Women's Swimming Opens 2025-26 Season at Day One of Eagle Invitational
FORT MYERS, Fla. — The University of Tampa women's swimming team turned in a strong showing on the opening day of the Eagle Fall Invitational, finishing the first session in second place behind host Florida Gulf Coast at the Lee County/FGCU Aquatics Center.

TOP TAMPA PERFORMERS
- 200 Freestyle Relay: Tampa's A-relay of Sara Safranko, Avery Frece, McCall Freiburger, and Tilde Morin opened the meet with a third-place finish in 1:33.77, followed closely by the B-relay of Laney Jones, Sara Teague, Madee Roberts, and Alicia Soderlind in 1:34.28.
- 500 Freestyle: The Spartans dominated distance swimming as Laura Hodgson won the event with a time of 4:54.99. She was joined in the top five by McKenna Patrick, who placed third in 4:57.08. Morgan Wimberly (11th, 5:02.28), Alyssa Webb (14th, 5:06.25), and Katharina Hibbeln (15th, 5:08.40) rounded out a strong group of Spartan scorers.
- 200 Individual Medley: Tampa packed the finals heat, led by Burlingtyn Bokos, who finished second overall in 2:03.56. Teammates Caroline Foltz (4th, 2:04.93), Carlie Tyler (5th, 2:05.01), and Lindsey Louder (7th, 2:06.11) also placed in the top eight. Caroline Byers (9th, 2:06.78) and Kimberly McCaffrey (13th, 2:07.01) contributed valuable points.
- 50 Freestyle: In the sprint event, Tilde Morin tied for fifth overall at 23.50, leading a deep Tampa lineup. Sara Safranko and Laney Jones tied for sixth at 23.71, while Avery Frece (12th, 23.88) and Madee Roberts (14th, 24.00) also cracked the top 15.
- 400 Medley Relay: The Spartans capped the session with a third-place effort in 3:45.87 behind the team of Kimberly McCaffrey, Caroline Foltz, Burlingtyn Bokos, and Tilde Morin. Tampa's B-relay — Lindsey Louder, Katie Ramsey, McCall Freiburger, and Sara Safranko — also impressed, placing sixth in 3:49.79.
