Spartans Storm to a 3-0 Victory Over Lynn
The No. 22 UT volleyball team blasted 46 kills at a .383 attack percentage to roll through the Fighting Knights on Friday evening.
TAMPA, Fla. – Earning its 10th win of the season, the No. 22 University of Tampa volleyball team swept Lynn University in straight-sets on Friday at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 | Senior Allee Stelogeannis stole the show in the opening frame, blasting nine kills in the first stanza. Fellow outside hitter Molly McAlvany added four kills without an attack error. Stelogeannis and libero Logan Holanchock each grabbed five digs in first set as UT won by a 25-14 score.
Set 2 | The two-pronged attack of Stelogeannis and McAlvany continued in the second frame as the duo combined for nine kills with the latter leading the way with six kills. Holanchock added another five digs as Tampa rolled to a 25-21 win in the second set. Lynn's offense was driven by the middles as Lydia West hit .500 with four kills and Claire Angelich with two.
Set 3 | Middle blocker Alexandra Misca totaled four kills in the final set to seal the Spartan victory. The sophomore hit .667 (4-for-6) without committing an attack error as Tampa bested Lynn in the third set by a 25-21 final score to complete the sweep. Stelogeannis finished the frame with four kills while Holanchock added seven digs.
INSIDE THE STATS:
• Stelogeannis once again led Tampa with 16 kills, adding 13 digs for a double-double. The senior hit an even .500 (16-2-28) on the match to terrorize the Fighting Knights.
• UT's setting tandem of Sammy Mueller and Jen Aprile paced the Spartan attack with 37 combined assists. The duo set Tampa to a .383 team attack percentage, keeping the tempo above .300 for the fifth time in 2016.
• Libero Holanchock amassed 17 digs in the three set win to lead UT. Lynn libero Katie Knight mirrored with 17 digs to her credit.
• The Fighting Knights relied heavily on their middle hitters, as West and Angelich finished with 13 kills while the latter converted at a .500 attack mark.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Ocala, Fla. native Stelogeannis blasted nine kills in the opening set for the first time in her career. The senior converted at an astonishing .615 clip in the opening stanza.
• Outside hitter McAlvany secured a new career-high in kills in just the second frame. Through two sets the junior had 10 kills for the first time in her collegiate career. The Roswell, Ga. native finished the match with 11 kills at a .476 attack percentage.
• With 16 kills and 13 digs, Stelogeannis posted her fifth-consecutive double-double and her ninth of the year. The 16 kills makes the 14th match in a row that the outside hitter has reached double-digit kills.
• Tampa improves to 39-1 on the all-time series after the sweep of Lynn.
