How It Happened
Tampa set the tone early, racing to a 10–4 lead in the opening frame behind kills from Tess Schrenger and Connor Rahn. The Spartans' efficient offense (.310 hitting percentage overall) kept Saint Leo under pressure, while their defense collected 57 digs to deny the Lions second chances.
The second set proved the tightest of the night, with Saint Leo pulling within 20–19 before back-to-back kills from Nathaly Perez and Rachel Gregg gave Tampa breathing room. Rahn sealed the frame at 25–22 with her sixth kill.
In the third, Tampa weathered an early Saint Leo surge, then ripped off a decisive 12–4 run fueled by Schrenger and Mak Carter at the net. A block by Perez and Gregg capped the rally, and the Spartans closed the sweep on another Schrenger kill.
The Spartans finished with a .310 hitting percentage (42 kills, 11 errors, 100 attempts), compared to Saint Leo's .090. Tampa also held a 57–41 advantage in digs and out-blocked the Lions 5–4.
