Spartans Defeat Sailfish to Extend Unbeaten Streak
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Spartans defeat the Sailfish in four sets to collect yet another victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: Tampa jumped out to its first lead, 5-4, after a kill from Tess Schrenger. Palm Beach Atlantic kept with Tampa, eventually regaining the lead 12-11. The Sailfish would score four of the next five points to lead 16-12. After a service error by the Sailfish, the Spartans would trail 16-13. Jenna Glaudel got Tampa one point closer after a service ace. Tampa would continue to hang with Palm Beach Atlantic, cutting into their lead to trail by one at 18-17. UTampa would capture the lead again at 20-19 after an attacking error by PBA. Nathaly Perez would put the Spartans ahead 22-20, and Schrenger would tack on an ace on the next play. Tampa would win the first set. | Score: 25-21 Tampa
Second Set: PBA scored the first five points of the set, forcing Tampa to take a timeout. After the timeout, the Spartans scored four consecutive points to get back in the match. The Spartans tied up the match 23-23 after a kill by Connor Rahn. Tampa would go on to have a chance to clinch the set, but Palm Beach Atlantic would fight the Spartans off and later go on to win the set. | Score 27-29 Palm Beach Atlantic
Third Set: Mak Carter tallied a kill to get Tampa out in front 3-2. Rahn recorded another kill to put Tampa out 7-6, and then the Spartans scored four of the next five points to increase the lead. PBA continued to hang with UTampa, getting within one point as the score was 18-17. Rachel Gregg added a kill to get the Spartans in front 23-22. Maddie Sofarelli made it 24-22 after an assist from Glaudel. Sofarelli added another kill on the next point to seal the set. | Score: 25-23 Tampa
Fourth Set: Kayla Dondero had a service ace to make it 7-5 for Tampa. Rahn would tally another kill later in the match to put the Spartans in the lead 13-10. After dropping the next point, Tampa would go on to score the three points to increase its advantage to 16-11. Gregg added yet another service ace for the Spartans to put Tampa back ahead by five as the score would be 20-15. Two consecutive kills by Rahn clinched the match. | Score: 25-21 Tampa
