Tampa Ends Road Trip With Victory Over Nova Southeastern

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: Connor Rahn posted two consecutive kills to get the Spartans out to an early 2-0 lead. Nova Southeastern scored the next six of seven points to take a 6-3 lead. Much of the set would continue to go back and forth as the Spartans would score the next couple of points to pull within one. UTampa regained its lead at 9-8 after Rahn added yet another one of her 19 total kills in the match. A Tess Schrenger ace made it 10-8. A 5-0 run increased the lead for the visiting Spartans to 18-10. Three consecutive kills by Rahn sealed the first set victory for Tampa. | Score: 25-22 Tampa
Second Set: Frehman setter Jenna Glaudel registered a kill to bring Tampa out to a 2-1 lead. PBA would score consecutive points to tie the match up at four. Jenna Davis added a kill after a Glaudel setup to make it 6-5. Kills by Screnger and Rahn added to the Spartan lead, making it 10-7. Once again, Rahn would have back-to-back kills later in the set to put the Spartans' lead out in front 20-16. Schrenger clinched the second set victory for Tampa with a kill. | Score 25-21 Tampa
Third Set: Glaudel had a service ace to open up the third set. After an attacking error by the Sharks, the Spartans led 7-4. Despite trailing, the Sharks fought back to make the score level on terms at eight apiece. Tampa and Nova exchanged leads several different times later on in the set. The Spartans had set point at 24-23 but could not convert. The Sharks went on to win the set. | Score: 26-28 Nova Southeastern
Fourth Set: The fourth set stayed tight throughout as neither team would have a lead bigger than two points. This was until scored four straight points to win the set. | Score: 25-21 Tampa
