Zoe Jarvis Named SSC Runner of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa junior cross country standout Zoe Jarvis was honored as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Runner of the Week following her performance at the University of Florida Mountain Dew Invitational.
After sitting out the season opener due to an injury, Jarvis returned to lead the Spartans to the non-Division I title at the annual University of Florida Mountain Dew Invitational. The Tampa native was the top non-Division I runner while finishing fifth overall among the 306 runners who qualified in the race. Jarvis finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 18:15.3, leading the Spartans to their second top finish of the early season.
Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of September 9 - 15, 2019. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
