Tampa Women's Cross Country Tops D2 Field at FSU Invite
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's cross country team delivered a strong performance at the FSU XC Invitational, placing 5th overall with a team score of 187 points against a field that featured powerhouse Division I and II programs.
The Spartans were led by Lindsey Volkman, who finished 18th overall in 21:56.7, pacing the team over the 6k course at Apalachee Regional Park. Emily Kriney followed as the team's No. 2 runner, clocking 22:24.2 (35th).
Tampa's depth shone through with Hannah Diete (37th, 22:29.6), Taylor Guthrie (46th, 22:38.5), and Camryn Sattler (51st, 22:41.0) closing out the Spartans' top five. Campbell Caldwell added a solid 54th-place finish in 22:48.2, while Alaina Williams crossed in 22:56.8 (60th).
Tampa's performance highlighted a tight scoring pack that helped them secure a top-five team finish. Their placement put them ahead of all NCAA Division II and Sunshine State Conference competition.
