Tampa Men and Women Both Atop National Swimming Polls
TAMPA, Fla. - For the first time in program history, the University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams are both No. 1 in the nation after opening the season at No. 5 in both polls.
The Spartans have dominated opponents this season, with the men finishing first of eight teams to open the season at the Shark Invite at Nova Southeastern. UT proceeded to defeat Rollins by a score of 206-55 and Florida Southern by a score of 206-56.
In women's action, UT has been equally impressive, also winning the eight-team Shark Invite to open 2023-24. Tampa then traveled to Rollins for a 222-39 win and also won on the road at Florida Southern by a 191-71 tally.
Tampa returns to action at the four-day Gamecock Invite, which takes place Wednesday through Friday at the Carolina Natatorium in Columbia, S.C.
