Mariah Galhouse Receives SSC Pitcher of the Week Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of Tampa's Mariah Galhouse recgonized as the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Galhouse is named Pitcher of the Week following two wins, a perfect game, and a save last week. The Spring Hill, Florida native began the week with three innings of work against Bloomsburg, where she allowed three hits and a walk while striking out five batters in a 10-0 UT win. In SSC action against Florida Southern, Galhouse tossed a six-inning perfect game striking out five of the 18 batters she faced in Tampa's 8-0 win. Galhouse added one more inning of work in the series sweep of FSC, earning a save in the process. For the week, she struck out 11 batters, allowed five hits, issued a walk, and held opposing hitters to a .143 batting average. The senior hurler's perfect game is the 11th in school history. The weekly award is the third of her career.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 13 - 19, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
