Hailee Sullivan Finishes Out Excellent Senior Season As UT’s First NCAA All-Regional Selection
CLEVELAND, Miss. - University of Tampa women's basketball player Hailee Sullivan became the first UT player to be named to the NCAA South Regional all-tournament team. Sullivan scored double figures in both regional games, including a team-high 21 in a victory over Clark Atlanta.
In the NCAA tournament, Sullivan averaged 17.5 points in the two games as she connected on 9-16 three-pointers for 56.3 percent. She was also a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line as she also totaled 14 points in the regional semifinals against Ouachita Baptist.
Sullivan played a major role down the stretch for the SSC regular season and tournament champions, collecting double figures in a critical three-game span against Nova Southeastern, Rllins and Eckerd. During the streak, she scored a career high 26 points in a victory over Rollins as she made 7-10 shots from beyond the arc and 9-13 from field goal range.
One of three seniors on the 2008-09 team, Sullivan tied for fourth on the team with 7.0 points per game. While starting six games and averaging 24.3 minutes, the Skokie, Ill., native was also second on the squad with 53 three-pointers. Her 42.1 percent clip from long-range was also second among all Spartans.
