No.3 Spartans Soar Past No.14 Embry-Riddle
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The No.3 University of Tampa lacrosse team secure their 14th win of the season against No.14 Embry-Riddle on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter: The game opened with Tampa getting on the board first taking an early lead. Embry-Riddle quickly caught up typing the game at 1. Then they scored two more times putting them up 3-1. Tampa comes back with a goal by Sophi Wrisk, but Embry-Riddle kept punching the ball into the back of the net. Right after Wrisk's goal, Embry-Riddle scores again putting them at four goals on the afternoon. A goal from Wrisk in the closing minutes of the quarter put them within one goal of regaining the lead. The goals for the Spartans were scored as follows:

Second Quarter: The second quarter opened with a slow start by both teams. Back-to-back saves from Alex Walling prevented Embry-Riddle from running up the score. It wasn't until 7:47 left in the quarter that the first goal of the quarter was scored by Riley McGettigan tying the game at 5. Tampa then went on a streak scoring three more goals before the conclusion of the quarter. Their defense showed up this quarter never allowing Embry-Riddle to score at all. Allie Peebles secured her first half hattrick this quarter. The Spartan goals headed into halftime were scored as follows:

Third Quarter: The third quarter began with Tampa getting on the board first again. There was a slower pace to the game as both teams were turning the ball over. Tampa attempted three shots on goal and on their third one, it ended successfully resulting in Olivia Mott securing her first goal on the afternoon. On a man-up opportunity, Tampa capitalizes and extends its lead. Another closing goal from Emma McLoughlin puts Tampa at 11 goals for the day. The Spartan's goals were scored as follows:

Fourth Quarter: The last quarter started with Julia Kolderman connecting with the back of the net in the first few seconds of the quarter. Embry-Riddle connects on their first goal since the first quarter putting them within six points. Tampa's defense was all over the field causing over 10 turnovers. Embry-Riddle slid in another goal within the last few seconds of the shot clock putting them at seven goals for the day. A goal by Cece Colombo puts Tampa at a comfortable lead. In the game's closing minutes, Tampa slowed down the pace looking to milk the remaining seconds on both the game and the shot clock. The Spartan goals for the fourth quarter were scored as follows:

BEYOND THE BOX:
- This is the season's second game where the Spartans have finished with only one assist. The other game was against Saint Leo on March 31.
