Erin Plachy Honored as Academic All-American
AUSTIN, Texas - Erin Plachy from the University of Tampa women's swimming team is a member of the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Plachy continues a string of recent success as UT Swimming now has five Academic All-Americans over the past three years. Plachy is also a two-time Academic All-District performer.
The Capital One Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2014-15 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.
A four-year letterwinner from Magnolia, Texas, Plachy was an All-American in three events as a senior. The events she was an All-American include the 200 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay.
The Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large program includes the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.
Twenty nine members of the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large teams have at least a 3.90 G.P.A., including 11 student-athletes who maintain a perfect 4.00 G.P.A. The 15 members of the first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.93.
