Spartans Fall Victim to Shark Attack

TAMPA, Fla. - The 36th-ranked University of Tampa women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss at the hands of Nova Southeastern, which is ranked 19th in the nation. The Spartans fall to 3-3 on the season and 0-3 in the Sunshine State Conference as they fell to their second consecutive ranked opponent in as many days. The Sharks improve to 4-0 and 2-0 in league play with the win.
The lone Spartan victory came from Kourtney Stark at the number five singles position. The freshman defeated her opponent, Andrea Moncada, by scores of 6-3, 5-7, 10-8.
UT returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Saint Leo for a 3 p.m. meeting with the Lions.
