Doubles Play Costs Spartans
DALLAS, Texas - The 36th-ranked University of Tampa tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback against 37th-ranked Midwestern State University in the final match of a trip to Texas. The Spartans fall to 8-5 on the season as MSU improves to 5-2 with the victory. UT also saw their four match winning streak come to an end.
Tampa dropped all three doubles matches to go down 3-0 heading into singles play. In singles action, the one-two punch of Erin Heeder and Jessica Faber both recorded victories from their respective positions.
The Spartans also received a singles win from Caitlin Scudder at the number-five spot, but suffered losses in the other three singles matches.
UT returns home for five consecutive matches at Tampa, beginning with a meeting with Pfeiffer on Tuesday, March 13 at 1:30 p.m.
