Spartans Take Pair Of Matches
TIFTON, Ga. - The University of Tampa (5-10) tennis team won a pair of matches, defeating Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (5-5) and Stillman College (2-9). After defeating AAC by a 7-2 score, UT concluded the day with a 9-0 victory over South Region opponent Stillman to increase its winning streak to five matches.
Against Abraham Baldwin, UT took two doubles matches and five singles events for the decisive victory. The number two and three doubles teams of Victoria Bell/Emily Kennedy and Lindsey Garyn/Megan Mancini both won for the Spartans.
In singles, Tampa took the two through six matches as Kourtney Stark, Bell, Mancini, Claire Runge and Kennedy each won respectively.
The Spartans closed the day with an easy victory over Stillman, allowing the Tigers to win just two doubles games and four combined singles games. The number one doubles team of Stark/Runge was joined by the two and three team of Bell/Kennedy and Garyn/Mancini in the victory column.
In singles, Stark, Bell, Runge, Garyn, Briana Ryan and Lisa Montgomery each picked up wins for Tampa.
