Perfect March Intact as No. 15 Tampa Blanks West Chester
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 15 University of Tampa (12-3) tennis team won its sixth straight match in a 9-0 dismantling of West Chester University, Pa., (4-4) on Tuesday afternoon.
The Spartans won all three doubles matches, with the number-two team of Kelsey Matthews and Lindsay Nochowicz posting an 8-0 win. Both the number-one team of Lauren Hewett and Meg Wladimirski and the three duo of Chloe Pereira and Nikol Williams triumphed by an 8-2 score.
In singles, Nochowicz blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in a straight set sweep from her number four spot. Jenelle Morgan also won without giving up a game from six singles.
Thashia Garcia posted a win from the main court number-one singles court as Wladimirski and Hewett followed suit in the two and three spots. Matthews made it a perfect day for the Spartans with a straight-set win at number five.
The Spartans are back on the court on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., versus the University of West Alabama at the Naimoli and Young Family Complex.
