Weekly Preview: Spartans On The Road For Spring Break Matchups

Thusrday, February 29th, 3:00 P.M. vs. U Mary @USTA National Tennis Center

Sunday, March 3rd, 1:00 P.M. vs. Christian Brothers University @Dunavant Tennis Complex

Monday, March 4th, 11:00 A.M. vs Harding University @Dunavant Tennis Complex

Tampa come off a victory Friday, Feb 23rd against Lynn.

SSC Teams with National Rankings: No. 23 Tampa

Tampa Spartan's Women's Tennis: (3-2, 2-2 SSC)

Tampa

  • Currently on a two-match SSC winning streak, No. 23 Tampa look forward to this Spring Break, having UMary up first in what will be their first match since, February 23rd against Lynn. Part of this alludes to the contribution from earning a doubles point, while dominating the majority of the singles matches.

UMary

  •  Coming of a 6-1 victory against Minnesota State University Moorhead, Mary looks to seek a win against No. 23 Tampa. In the match against Minnesota, the Marauders conceded to a doubles match, but ultimately the remaining to earn the first point. They proceeded to win five straight singles matches to secure the victory. The last singles match resulted in a Minnesota victory and a forfeited match. The Bulldogs currently reign 3-0 on the season.

Christian Brothers

  • With an even record 5-5 start to their season and 1-2 in their conference, CBU head into Spring Break to lift their record. Heading into this week, the Bucs will face great competition with Shorter University on Friday, March 1st & No. 23 University of Tampa on Sunday, March 3rd. 

Harding

  • With an 4-3 record so far in the Spring season, the Harding Bisons looks to increase their overall record to above .571 after Spring Break concludes. In their last match against UT Tyler, the Bisons clinched past with 5-2 victory. Harding will face Arkansas Forth-Smith Thursday, February 29th, Southwest Baptist Friday, March 1st, Delta State Sunday, March 3rd, & University of Tampa Monday, March 4th.
