SSC Presents Aspen Gordon With Third Runner of Week Honor
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa women's cross country student-athlete Aspen Gordon has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Runner of the Week for her performance at the Charger Invitational.
Gordon repeats as Runner of the Week with her performance at the UAH Invitational at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The Morton, Illinois native finished fourth of 356 runners and was the top SSC performer at the invite. Gordon completed the 5000-meter race in 17:35.3, a personal best and 10 seconds better than the next SSC finisher. With Gordon's performance, Tampa won the 41-team event. The weekly award is the fourth of her career and the third this season.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of October 2 - 8, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
