Tampa Among Top Teams in Directors’ Cup
TAMPA, Fla. - After capturing two NCAA II championships and making nine postseason appearances, The University of Tampa has placed 19th in the final Sports Academy Directors' Cup standings. This marks the first time in UT history that the program has placed in the top 20 in consecutive seasons after finishing 20th last year.
With 459 points, the Spartans were second among Sunshine State Conference schools. While receiving 100 points apiece in volleyball and baseball, Tampa also had 83 in women's soccer. Women's swimming earned 54 points as men's swimming and women's cross country each contributed 36. A second-straight NCAA appearance in women's basketball and first-ever women's tennis NCAA berth also earned the Spartans 25 points apiece in the respective sports.
