UT to Host Hoops Doubleheader Saturday
TAMPA-Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's basketball teams will host the Palm Beach Atlantic University Sailfish on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center.
The women will take the court at 2 p.m., followed by the men at 4 p.m.
The UT women's (7-9) squad is coming off a 56-51 loss to Florida Southern University. The team is led by senior Jaleesa Harmon and junior Moriah Hodge who average 13.1 and 12.3 points per game respectively. Other notable scorers include sophomore Illyssa Vivo with 10 points per game and senior Sarah Wickham recording 7.8 points per game.
Tampa's men's (4-12) squad is also coming off a loss to Florida Southern University in a 97-71 contest. The team is led by senior Ashton Graham who averages 12.9 points per game. Other notable scorers include junior Callum Townsend with 12.6 points per game and sophomore Stefon Barfield with 6.6 points per game.
The PBA women's (7-12) team is coming off a 61-49 win against Northwood University. The team is led by seniors Jordan Kong and Selethia Jackson who average 12.2 and 12.1 points per game respectively. The men's (3-14) team is coming off a 78-47 loss to Eckerd College. The team is led by Terrell Terry averaging 12.6 points per game and Dante Valentine averaging 12.5 points per game.
Tickets will be available at the gate for $5 (adults) and $3 (children and senior citizens). UT students will be admitted for free with a valid student ID.
