Catch UT Alum Nick Peterson On The Cast Of The Bachelorette
TAMPA, Fla. - Former University of Tampa baseball pitcher Nick Peterson is among the contestants vying for The Bachelorette, which is featured on ABC on Mondays at 8 p.m. Peterson recently completed the first round, receiving a rose from Ashley.
He becomes the second former Spartan baseball player in the show, following Roberto Martinez from last season's episode. Martinez advanced throughout the program, eventually becoming engaged to the star. The University of Tampa was also the home of a date between Martinez and Ali Fedotowsky.
Peterson was a two-year letterwinner for the UT baseball team and was a key pitcher for the 2006 national championship team. He was also a 12th round selection of the New York Yankees in the 2006 MLB Draft.
In 2006, he appeared in 15 games, compiling a 3-1 record with a 2.38 ERA. The hard-throwing pitcher also struck out 81 batters in 56.2 innings. He also threw a scoreless inning of relief in a national semifinal victory over Franklin-Pierce College.
