Backed By Homers, Spartans Finish Sweep Of Bobcats In Extras
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The University of Tampa baseball team (6-0) finished off a three-game sweep over the Georgia College Bobcats (0-3) today at John Kurtz Field with a 16-14 victory in 11 innings.
10 runs scored between the seventh and eighth innings by the Bobcats took the game into extras tied 12-12. Brad Hencke started and allowed two unearned runs over six innings of work, giving up just one hit, walking two and striking out six. He has yet to allow an earned run in 10 innings pitched this season.
Conner Andrews picked up his first career win, pitching three and two-thirds frames from the eighth to 11th inning. He allowed two unearned runs on three hits, striking out six.
