TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 1 University of Tampa baseball team completed its opening series with an 11-3 loss to No. 15 Georgia College in a regional matchup.

All-time Series: This was the 75th all-time meeting between the Division II powers, as they have now played every season dating back to 1995. Tampa now owns a 53-22 lead in the all-time series.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats struck early, scoring in the first three innings. After crossing three in the first, GC scored one run apiece in the following two innings. || Top 3 || 5-0 Georgia College
- Following three scoreless frames, the Bobcats put up a four spot in the top of the seventh. || Top 7 || 9-0 Georgia College
- The Spartans got on the board in the seventh when freshman Adam Hunt singled home classmate Cole Judelson. || Bot 7 || 9-1 Georgia College
- Both teams scored a pair of runs in the ninth inning. Tampa's runs were driven in by Andrew Mills and freshman J.D. Urso.. || Bot 9 || 11-3 Georgia College
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Georgia College outhit the Spartans 13-4, with both teams committing a pair of errors.
- Hunt and Judelson each singled in their first UT at bat, while Urso was robbed of a hit by the Bobcat first baseman.
- Scoring runs for the Spartans were Luke Benoit, Judelson and Eric Zimmerman.
- The Bobcats connected on four home runs as they registered six extra base hits compared to zero for the Spartans.
- Nik Constantakos started for UT and took the loss. He went 2.0 innings, allowing four hits and four earned runs while striking out three.
- Michael Paul threw 1.1 perfect innings of relief with a strikeout for Tampa.
