Tampa
- The Spartans improved their record to 27-2 after sweeping Interstate-4 rival Florida Southern this past weekend and beating NAIA school St. Thomas on Monday. The Spartans continue to stay at the top of the national polls, as they are at the top of the NCBWA poll for the sixth straight week. In those four games, the Spartans outscored their opponents 38-11. Outfielder and SSC Player of the Week EJ Cumbo led the Spartans' offense this weekend. Cumbo had an enormous weekend at the plate, going 8-15 with 3 home runs while scoring 6 and knocking in 11 runs. Coach Urso continues to get outstanding results from his lead-off batter in Cumbo. Cumbo looks to lead the way for the Spartans in a three-game series at Nova Southeastern starting tomorrow.
Nova Southeastern
- The Sharks have been playing solid baseball as of late and are currently on a 7-game winning streak. The Sharks sit at 15-9 and 6-3 in SSC play, ranking fourth in the conference. They swept Davenport and Palm Beach Atlantic before their 3-game series against Valdosta State was canceled this past weekend. Nova Southeastern will face their first true test of the season as they host #1 Tampa.
