Canney Shuts Down Nova
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The #1 University of Tampa Spartans open their weekend with a win behind an impressive performance by Alex Canney.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stephen Klein grounded out to first base, bringing in E.J. Cumbo for the game's first run. Mike Valdez doubled to right field, bringing home Jake Griffith. Top 1 | 2-0 Tampa
- Santiago Garavito flies out to the right field to bring Anthony Nunez home. Cumbo doubles to left field to bring home Nico Saladino and Brayden Woodburn. Top 3 | 5-0 Tampa
- Woodburn singles to left center to bring home Nunez. Saladino singled to the right field to bring Garavito home. Top 4 | 7-0 Tampa
- Saladino walked with the bases loaded to bring home Nunez. Maddox King followed with a walk to bring Garavito home. Griffith flew out to center field to bring home Saladino. Valdez reached base on an error, and King scored. Top 8 | 11-1 Tampa
