After Leading Team to Pair of Victories, Ashton Graham Takes SSC Honor
ORLANDO, Fla. - University of Tampa senior guard Ashton Graham has been named Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by commissioner Jay Jones on Monday.
Graham, a native of Tampa, Fla., led the Spartans to a pair of SSC wins, averaging 27.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.
In a 98-88 upset at Rollins, Graham netted a career-high 30 points to go with five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block.
He then tallied 24 points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks in a 56-55 win over Barry. Graham scored what proved to be the game-winning lay-up with 12 seconds left on the clock.
In two contests, he shot 47 percent (18-for-38) from the field, 40 percent (8-for-20) from three-point range, and 83 percent (10-for-12) at the free throw line.
