UT Drops Season Series to Nova Southeastern
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The University of Tampa (6-17, 2-11 SSC) dropped a 61-44 decision at Nova Southeastern University (10-12, 5-8 SSC) in a Sunshine State Conference game on Saturday afternoon at the Taft Center.
The Sharks completed the season sweep of the Spartans, outscoring UT 36-19 in the second half after being tied at the half.
Brian Wright came off the bench to lead Richard Schmidt's team with 14 points. Wright was the lone Spartan in double figures as he also grabbed a team-leading five rebounds.
Tampa was 0-for-10 from 3-point range in the second half, finishing with a 15.8 percent showing for the game. NSU connected on seven long-range shots and also outrebounded Tampa by a 37-28 margin.
The Spartans return home where it will host Eckerd College on Wednesday at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Live stats and a webcast will be available through TampaSpartans.tv.
