Mocs Defeat Men’s Basketball on Senior Night
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's basketball team dropped a 77-57 loss to rival Florida Southern College. The Mocs improve to 20-5 on the season with an 11-4 mark in Sunshine State Conference games while the hosting Spartans dip to 16-12 with a 3-12 record in conference.
Junior Vincent Cornu recorded a double-double as the center tallied 14 boards and 11 total points. Guard Terrell Pritchett contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the drubbing as UT was unable to come back from a 39-29 deficit at the end of the first half.
The Spartans outrebounded the visiting Mocs 45 to 39; however the Tampa squad had 17 turnovers to FSC's six. In the end, the UT team was unable to overcome their rivals lead and ended in the loss.
Tampa will play its last regular season game Saturday Mar. 2nd on the road against Florida Tech. The matinee is set for 4 p.m. as live stats will be available through www.tampaspartans.com.
