Spartans Squash Yellow Jackets
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (2-0) men's basketball team won their second straight game 82-58 against American International College (1-2) at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center Friday night.
Senior Da'Markco Foster help set the tone early in the first period with a made three-point basket after the tip. The lead alternated between the two teams until the 11 minute mark; where the Spartans held the Pirates to under 35 percent shooting from the field.
Ending the first half, the Spartans shot 50 percent from the field and led by 21. Foster and Ryan Kidd had 14 points apiece.
Tampa maintained a double digit lead for the remainder of the contest. The home team converted over 17 points off of opponent turnovers, along with relentless rebounding efforts.
Foster led all scorers with 21 points, while Jordan Davis registered eight assists.
Tampa will hit the hardwood again this weekend for a Sunday afternoon contest against Clayton State (0-1). The home contest will begin at 4 p.m., at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center.
Tickets are available at the gate for $5. Children 12-and-under will be admitted free. UT faculty, staff and students are admitted free when displaying a valid Spartan ID card.
