Spartans Complete Season Opener at Webber Invitational
LAKE WALES, Fla. - The University of Tampa golf team competed in the 15th Annual Webber Invitational to open its 2008-09 season. The Spartans finished 14th in the 19 team field.
The young Spartan included three sophomores as the team shot a 936. After opening the event with a first round score of 308, UT shot a 318 and 310 in the final two rounds.
Senior Ryan Barnett and sophomore Nicolas Jutigny led the way for Tampa, as both finished in a tie for 53rd place. The pair shot a 233 as Jutigny's first-round 74 marked a team-high for the event.
Also competing for Tampa were Kris Shane (238), Kyle Roy (238), Chad Bouchard (240), Eric Snow (241) and Brett St. Clair (243).
Tampa returns to action on Mon., Oct. 6, when it hosts the Spartan Invitational at Rogers Park.
