UT Finishes In Top Half At UNA Invitational
MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - The University of Tampa golf team competed in the 19-team field at the University of North Alabama Spring Fling, finishing ninth overall. The two-round event was played at the Robert Trent Jones Fighting Joe.
The Spartans finished strong with a second round score of 296 after tallying a 312 in Monday's opening round. UT finished at 608 (+32). North Alabama finished first with a score of 588.
Kyle Roy and Kris Shane led the Spartans as each shot a 150 (+6). After an opening round 72, Roy entered the final round in a tie for the overall lead. Shane recorded a top round for Tampa with a 70 on Tuesday. The duo finished in a 14th place tie.
Taylor Noel (154), Nicolas Jutigny (155) and Eric Snow (166) also competed for Tampa.
UT is back in action on Monday at the Barry Invitational in Miami Beach. The event will conclude with two rounds on Tuesday.
