Tampa Turns in Top-10 Finish at Webber Invite
LAKE WALES, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team was sixth overall at the Webber International Invitational at Lake Wales Country Club.
The Spartans shot a third-round score of 300 after opening with 310 and 322 in the first two rounds. Head coach Rick Christie's squad finished at 932, or +80. Rollins was first with an 874 as UT was ahead of both Mobile (941) and Warner (951).
Mark Cleary finished in a 22nd-place tie at 229 as the senior from London, England posted a team-best 73 in the final round. Steven Embree (234), Taylor Noel (235), Josh Detmer (251) and Parker Wingfield (254) were also in the Spartan lineup. Noel also posted a final round showing of 73.
UT is back in action on March 19-20 at the Florida Tech Invitational in Melbourne, Fla.
