Spartan Men’s Golfers Wrap up Guy Harvey Invitational
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team played to a 17th-place finish at the Guy Harvey Invitational, which was hosted by Sunshine State Conference opponent Nova Southeastern University.
Tampa totaled a 919 (+55) in three rounds of play. The second round 296 marked the top round for the Spartans. SSC opponent Saint Leo University won the team title with a score of 864 (E).
Senior Zach Schuster and Danny Syring led Tampa with a 228 (+12). The duo finished in a tie for 59th-place, as Schuster had a team-best round of 73 in the second go-round. Syring shot a consistent 77, 74 and 77.
Justin Elwell (230) and Jason Steele (236) also competed as Bobby Ray had a 159 in two rounds of play.
Tampa returns to the links on Oct. 26-27 at the Rollins Invitational. The events will be played at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Fla.
