Strong Finish Helps Tampa Men's Golf Over Two Top-10 Opponents in Sixth Place Finish
VALDOSTA, Ga. - The University of Tampa men's golf team played to a sixth-place finish at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate event held at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Georgia.
The course, known for its challenges, stretches over 7,421 yards with a par of 72. The competition featured 17 teams and 90 players, offering a robust field for the event.
The team standings showed a strong performance across the board, with Nova Southeastern clinching the first place with an impressive score of 852, finishing 12 under par. Tampa finished in the sixth position with a score of 868, which was 4 over par.
Top Tampa Golfers
- Jonathan Garbely tied for 17th place, achieving a score of even par (216) across the three rounds.
- Jonty Marshall and Alex Mercier also put up strong performances, tying for 25th and 28th places with scores of +1 (217) and +2 (218) respectively.
- Leonardo Bono and Garrett Tighe both tied for 59th place with scores of +8 (224), rounding out Tampa's individual results.
